Keith James was born in Chicago Illinois. He grew up in Hyde park and was first exposed to the world of art through his two ridiculously talented parents, a painter and a photographer.

Keith attend college at the American Academy of Art where he obtained his Degree in Illustration. While attending at the Academy he helped form Circle Studios, an independent comic book publishing company that made.

Circle Studios had produced their first full color book "The Book of Thoth", and Keith was promoted to Assistant Editor and began producing the company's advertising as well. In 1996 Circle Studios began producing their second title "Whispers", which Keith illustrated and colored.

In 1996 Keith began working at Condon and Randis Advertising Arts as a production artist and Graphic Designer. Keith focused the rest of his artistic energy into getting Circle Studios books picked up by a major publishing company. In 1998 Keith began working as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator, having gained skills both working for a well established agency and the school of hard knocks.

In order to cement his skills even further, Keith returned to The American Academy of Art in 2007, to obtain his Bachelors in Graphic Design. Upon graduation, he took a fantastic Internship opportunity at Playboy Enterprises Chicago office in their licensing department. Keith now resides in Rogers Park continuing his career as a freelance graphic designer , illustrator, and studies of kung-fu.
